Thornton Manor weddings are always special. It has to be one of the best wedding venues in the country, never mind the North West. Photographing a wedding there is made really easy by how good the place looks and for Jenny and Randip’s wedding we had the added bonus of an outdoor ceremony! A rarity for Manchester wedding photographers to say the least! Jenny started the day in Thornton Manor’s thatched cottage which has a completely windowed front so the light in there was fantastic. While this was going on the guests were arriving and eating the first meal of the day outside, in front of Thorton Manor, just across the field from Jenny and her bridesmaids in the thatched cottage. I had to make the run across the field back and forth a few times to cover everything! The outdoor ceremony was great, it got rather emotional at times and Randip struggled through his vows but got there in the end. The weather was perfect and the wedding party sat out in the sun for the afternoon until finally everyone went inside for another meal and the speeches. Probably the highlight of the speeches was Randip’s comment about Jenny’s mum, which I wont go into details about but there is a great shot of the best man that tells you what was said pretty much! Gordon the Gopher made a appearance too! Jenny changed into her second dress of the day and Randip changed into a suit for the evening and the dancefloor was great fun, it was good to see all the parents throwing shapes too!
