This was my first time as a Midland Hotel wedding photographer. I’ve photographed wedding just down the road at Great John Street and the Radisson Edwardian but finally I got the chance at wedding photography at The Midland, arguably Manchester’s most impressive hotel. Last year I shot Alison’s cousin Jenny’s wedding at Thornton Manor so I already knew a lot of the family which made it even better. You might remember their practice shoot in Castlefield which I posted a couple of months ago, I knew it would be a great wedding and it really was. The Midland Hotel is in the heart of Manchester city centre so it was perfect for some urban wedding photography when we got a break in the rain after the speeches. And it was also my first time shooting ping pong, there was no reason for this other than there was a ping pong table in a cool looking room, it reminded me of film The Grand Budapest Hotel, possible my favourite film of this year. It was a great wedding and I’m really happy with the photos, congratulations Alison and Daryl.
