What a year it was. Simply superb! I had an amazing time at every wedding I photographed, it really was an honour. The year started off with Christian and Lisa’s English-Italian “matrimonio” at Thornton Manor, it seems crazy that it was now almost a year ago. Time flies when you’re having fun! I am mainly a Manchester wedding photographer, best city in the UK in my opinion but I do like to venture further afield and I’m looking forward to another wedding abroad in 2016. This year I tried to concentrate on improving my natural side of wedding photography, capturing more and more fleeting moments at each wedding and I’ve had the pleasure of working with some of the best wedding photographers around who I’m proud to say are my friends. These guys have helped me become an even better wedding photographer and hopefully you’ll agree when you see the photos below. These are not necessarily my best wedding photographs but my favourites. It was hard to whittle them down to these, I may even do a second best wedding photographs blog post soon!
For all you camera geeks out there I’ve shot this year on the Canon 5D mk3. Two of them, mainly with the Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art and the Canon 85mm f1.8 but I’ve also always got in my bag my Canon 16-35mm f2.8 for the occasional wide shot and for the dance floor and my Canon 135mm f2 for portraits and picking out candid moments from a distance. This could all change this year but we shall see.
In personal news I’ve moved house, still in South Manchester but now without the noisy street and the Metrolink at the bottom of my garden which was a feature of my last place. We are very happy in the new place and it currently being made a bit more scouse by my better half. Oscar has a Star Wars bedroom (great influence I am) and the garden backs onto a huge private field, can’t wait for the summer!
So this years weddings are going to be even better I’m sure and I’m now geared up to try and become the best Manchester wedding photographer there is! Hopefully I’ll be able to blog more than the four times I did in 2015, I have a lot of blogging to catch up on that’s for sure. And if you’ve read all this gubbins don’t you have anything better to do with your time? x
